Motivating your goals is easily done. By
being passionate about your dreams and matching your dreams to
your goals, you can and will be able to motivate yourself!
Setting study goals
Setting study goals are much easier than life goals. With study goals
you know how long the course is, what is required of you, when you
will be examined and probably have an idea of the grades you would
like. Life goals can be much more abstract. Setting study goals
involves three simple steps:
3 Steps to Setting Study Goals

Set your long-term goals:
Long-term goals extend over many
years. Determine your long-term study goals. Is your goal to
obtain your Bachelors Degree or to become a doctor?
2.
Set your short-term goals (one year):
Short-term goals are
goals that can be accomplished within a year (365 days).
Determine what needs to be accomplished to obtain your long-term
goal and include those you can do within the year as your short
term goals.
3.
Set your current
study goals:
You should now have a firm
understanding of what needs to be accomplished within the year.
Take those activities and divide them into the months, weeks and
days until you know what you will need to do on a daily basis.
These are your current study goals.
Your long-term goals are your dreams and aspirations. For many
people this is the most enjoyable part of goal setting. They are allowed
to fantasize about their aspirations. If your dream is to be a Lawyer,
you may dream of questioning a witness, of if your dream is to be a
doctor, you may dream of working in the emergency room. Whatever
your dreams, this is the stage in which you get to explore your
academic interests.
Short-term goals always match up with long-term goals. For many
people the dream of working as a doctor and their current reality are
too far apart to map the route to their dreams. That is where short-term
