Typically goals have always been treated with a vagueness which
has allowed them to float around. Prevent this from happening by
ensuring that your goals are specific and quantifiable.
Consistently review and update your goals as time passes and/or your
situation changes. By reviewing and updating your goals you are
keeping them fresh in the memory and relevant to your situation.
You wont be able to accomplish all your goals at once and many
goals take years to accomplish. Each of your goals needs to be
organized into various terms. Use the following terms for your goals:
Long-term: Goals greater than one year
Short-term: Goals that can be accomplished in less than ¹ year
Current goals: Goals that can be accomplished in 1-30 days
Once your goals are termed, start prioritizing them. By prioritizing your
goals in each of the terms, you are making them more manageable.
Prioritize each of your goals in each of the lists and start on the most
important first.
Set priorities for your goals. A major part of successful living lies in the
ability to put first things first. Indeed, the reason most major goals are
not achieved is that we spend our time doing second things first.
