Individuals considered Type A Personality may not understand what is
wrong with their approach to life. They are normally very successful at
what they do and they attribute their success to their ability to focus
and get things done.
The problems associated with a Type A Personality include high blood
pressure, increased number of heart attacks and many of the other
associated effects that are cause by excessive stress.
Not only does a rushed approach to studying reduce your
effectiveness, but the stress that Type A Personality suffers from
deteriorates their physical and mental well being. Becoming aware of
the symptoms is the first steps in reducing your stress levels and
improving your study efficiency. The second step is to learn to relax.
The relaxation techniques described here are not only for people who
believe they suffer from a Type A Personality, but anyone who feels
the effects of stress and needs to relax.
The relaxation techniques mentioned here can also be used with the
relaxation techniques mentioned in Chapter 4- Preparation which can
also be used to calm the mind and body before a study session
