Preventing and reducing stress
Methods to reduce stress:
Once you have determined which of the modifiable risk factors affect
you, you can take the steps to reduce them. Stress reduction for each
of the modifiable risk factors has been included as well as some
general techniques to improve your overall relaxation.
Not all people share the same self-awareness when it comes to
understanding our own stress stimuli. Many people for many reasons
deny or choose to be unable to identify their own stress. They also
deny their own behaviors responsible for the stress and the discomfort
that result from it.
When most people speak of stress they refer to a rapid heartbeat,
insomnia, drinking, upset stomach, anxiety or even depression. These
are all symptoms of stress and all have a negative effect on your
ability to study effectively.
Just as everyone reacts differently to stress, so does everyone to ways
to reduce stress, so alternative relaxation techniques have been
included. These techniques help with both specific and general stress
reduction, the body and the mind.
Reducing your personality type stress:
The most common personality type that is associated with stress is a
Type A personality. Some of the characteristics of a Type A personality
are:
