Study tools are tools that can be used to improve the student’s
proficiency during studying. There are three types of tools described
with in this chapter; application of physical tools (hand tools), memory
tools (power tools) and general use tools (personal tools).
Each of the tools described helps the student throughout the entire
study process by either improving the memorization of information, in
the consolidation of information or improving memory retention.
Not unlike the tools used by tradesmen, the student will find that study
tools will become more helpful and useful with continued use. These
same tools aren’t restricted to just the area of study, but can also be
used in everyday life.
Read through this chapter and take careful note of the tools
described and join the thousands of other students that are also
effectively using these same tools.
Your toolbox
Your toolbox is something that you will be able to carry around with
you for a lifetime.
If you decide to use the tools in this chapter, they
can become part of your own personal toolbox. Some tools will need
some practice to use and others will be effective the first time you use
it. These tools will last you a lifetime. However, if do not use them, they
may seem dull, ineffective, and you may be inclined to exclude them
from your toolbox. It is up to you to keep your tools sharp by constantly
using them every opportunity you have; not just during study time. The
