you mind is asking itself why you are studying, rather then studying,
your concentration will be reduced, and so will your study

Improving your concentration:
Taking the steps to improve your concentration is very easy. Reduce
or eliminate internal and external distractions, ensure you are
motivated, and practice strengthening your concentration skills.
Reducing distracters:
Reducing or eliminating external distractions is dependant on your
personal situation. Is your place of study next to the television? Do you
have noisy neighbours? There are some distracters that you can, and
others that you cannot control. There is not much you can do about
your neighbours, but there is something you can do about where you
choose to study.

I had to give my TV and game consol to a friend while I was
studying because it was taking too much time out of my
studying. My teacher suggested that if I dont get rid of these
time robbers then at least use a stopwatch to add up all the
time I spent on them. After a week with the stopwatch, I
decided the only way I will have enough time to study would
be to get rid of these time robbers.

Keeping motivated:
The best way to keep motivated is to be prepared. Setting up for
success is the best way to ensure success. The same also holds true for
studying. Preparation counts. Two whole chapters have been
dedicated to the subject of motivation and preparation. Both

are fantastic introductions to the foundations of effective studying
and motivation.
