uncovered the true importance of the review and rehearsal stage of
studying.
The Ebbinghaus curve clearly shows that as more time passes, the
more we tend to forget. Right after reviewing new material, our
retention ability is nearly 100%. However, soon after, we begin to
forget the specifics of the material leaned. The rate at which we
forget information is at it’s highest between the first 30 minutes and 12
hours after reviewing the material (as shown in the above diagram).
This is the best time to review and rehearse information. By just
reviewing your material sooner than later, you can improve your
retention by over double. That is a huge increase!
The research done by Ebbinghaus illustrates our retention ability if we
were to learn all the material during one sitting. Most learning doesn’t
work that way.  In fact by staggering your learning of new material
and insuring that you review regularly, you increase your learning
ability even more!
Time and pace learning:
Most students suffer from not having enough time to study. Even when
you only have a few hours to yourself, there are a few ways to
approach your learning. Most students use those few hours and try to
learn as much as they can in one sitting, but there is a better way. You
can use the years of research that have proved a little known secret
that will greatly improve your retention. It is called ‘Time and Pace
Learning’, and this is how it works.
