Sense of Sight:
People who best learn by seeing things are called visual learners.
They often remember information best if they remember it as pictures.
They see the written word, a picture of a textbook, or a demonstration
when they try and recall the information. Good visual learners tend to:
Be good spellers.
Be good readers.
Find it easier to remember things when they see it, rather then
hear it.
Remember information better if it is presented visually such as
overhead presentations, videos, and slides.
Visual learners often do very well in an academic environment.
Sense of Hearing:
People who learn best through hearing are called auditory learners.
These individuals often prefer to hear information rather than see it
and tend to be good at:
Remembering what they hear, than what they see.
Become distracted by noise more than a visual learner.
Prefer talking rather than writing to communicate.
Prefer talking rather than writing when doing an activity.
Pickup foreign words very easily.
Doing rather than seeing
Some people are good at either hearing or seeing something yet
others find the best way to learn something new is to just do it.
Someone who learns best by ‘just doing it’ is known as a kinesthetic
learner.  Individuals who generally are good with their hands, need to
touch, feel, or move things are kinesthetic learners. Some of the
characteristics of kinesthetic learners are:
Prefer ‘hands on’ learning to the other two methods above.
Understand better when they ‘do it’ rather than seeing it done.
Memorize better when being physically active.
Like to explore and have a tendency not to sit for long periods
of time.
Speak and write more slowly then auditory or visual learners.
Use hand gestures more often when communicating.
Pablo Picasso resisted school stubbornly and seemed completely
unable to learn to read or write…Other students grew used to seeing
Like ability of a
muscle, hearing your
inner wisdom is
strengthened by
doing it.

Discovery consists of
seeing what
everybody has seen
and thinking what
nobody has thought.
